Just returned from my stay in the are. It was a moving experience to stand in the Abbey grave yard and pause to reflect on the needless tragedy. Generations of families lost to the greed of the landowners who stole the lives of the future inheritance of so many Irish children. The idea of a Famine Memorial Day is one which should be etched on the inventory of the great landed gentry who still profit from the toils of the poor. We are still a nation gripped in a struggle to survive.

I found your sites when searching for articles on Thin Places. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences! I hope to travel to Ireland & Scotland in the near future to visit some of the places you've recommended.

I know there are thin places in the US as well, as I visit the one I know about in my hometown as often as I can.
